Did you know…

Kingston quite literally refers to a 'Kings-town'. This ancient market town was the location for many Saxon kings being crowned. It is believed that St Mary's, an old church which collapsed in 1730 was the site for the later discovered large block stone that was regarded as the "Coronation Stone". The first noted settlement occurred in the 1600s and was called King's Town to honour King George III; later the name was shortened to Kingston in 1788.

About Kingston

Initially part of Surrey, Kingston Upon Thames became part of the Greater London Borough in 1965. Since then, it has been a thriving metropolitan of activity, a growing population, excellent transport links and flourishing industries. With 43,000 residents in the area, Kingston has frequent bus and rail services taking commuters in and out of London and Surrey.

The Kingston Community

The centre of Kingston is mainly pedestrian and full of busy retail, restaurants, cafes and leisure activities to support the bustling atmosphere of the centre. The Bentall Centre is a popular shopping mall for locals and out-of-towners looking for a shopping spree. There is plenty of choice with high street brands and large department stores.

As an ancient market town, Kingston still hosts a market in the centre of town, with products including jewellery, fish, exotic foods, local foods and flowers. With bars, restaurants and pubs lining the River Thames in Kingston, there is loads of opportunity for outdoor socialising and relishing the river views. There is something for everyone in Kingston, with museums, galleries, cinemas, eateries and a bowling alley also.

We used RE/MAX for the sale of our property. RE/MAX was very helpful from start to finish, always there at the end of the phone when needed. Always chasing for updates. They have been truly amazing! Their costs are also very good value for money when you consider the service they provide. I would highly recommend!

We recently sold our house with RE/MAX and are so happy with the service we have received. Our house sold in a matter of days, which is amazing, and Shaun has been contactable at all times for any questions we have. We would definitely recommend using RE/MAX to anyone we know who is thinking of moving home.

A very friendly, in-depth market appraisal. Lots of information was provided about the reason for the valuation and advice on what improvements should or shouldn’t be made if planning to sell the house soon. Overall a very helpful guide on what our house is currently worth. If we decide to sell we would definitely use RE/MAX.
