Did you know…

The town was once famous for its production of locks and keys. As far back as 1770, Willenhall was home to 148 skilled locksmiths. Nowadays, the area's flag still reflects this fact, bearing three locks and two keys.

About Willenhall

Willenhall is a market town within the borough of Walsall, in the West Midlands. Willenhall sits on the River Tame, and it is part of the Black Country. The north border of Willenhall has always adjoined open land, but it has been moving for the last 100 years. Thanks to housing developments, the border has extended by about two miles. Our estate agents love Willenhall for its rich local history.

Willenhall is close enough to Wolverhampton to commute, but far enough to be out of the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Willenhall is also 3.5 miles away from the M6, so you have good connections to the rest of the Midlands and the Staffordshire countryside.

Things to do in Willenhall

  • Willenhall is steeped in local history, St. Giles Church Cholera Burial Ground is one such example. In 1849 Willenhall was hit by Cholera, and within 49 days 292 people had died. A portion of the church estate was used as a burial ground to cope with the demand. Today, it is a place of remembrance and reflection.
  • Willenhall Memorial Park is another example of the area's history, it is an open green space that was created to commemorate those who died in WW1. The park features a fishing pond, woodland, a bandstand, and a skatepark. Our estate agents love stretching their legs here.
  • For food and drink, our estate agents in Willenhall recommend Ye Old Toll House for home cooked dishes, local beers, and even tribute nights to stars such as Meat Loaf and Buddy Holly.
  • If you are looking for a sports fix, Willenhall is home to two football clubs, Willenhall Town F.C. and Sporting Khalsa F.C., as well as a rugby club.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY ABOUT US . . .

We used RE/MAX for the sale of our property. RE/MAX was very helpful from start to finish, always there at the end of the phone when needed. Always chasing for updates. They have been truly amazing! Their costs are also very good value for money when you consider the service they provide. I would highly recommend!

We recently sold our house with RE/MAX and are so happy with the service we have received. Our house sold in a matter of days, which is amazing, and Shaun has been contactable at all times for any questions we have. We would definitely recommend using RE/MAX to anyone we know who is thinking of moving home.

A very friendly, in-depth market appraisal. Lots of information was provided about the reason for the valuation and advice on what improvements should or shouldn’t be made if planning to sell the house soon. Overall a very helpful guide on what our house is currently worth. If we decide to sell we would definitely use RE/MAX.
