I have worked in property and sales for the whole of my working life. I started selling new-build homes for my parents before I was 16. Aside from a couple of diversions into selling equestrian supplements and telecoms services, the rest of my time has been spent with property, where I’ve worked at then managed my parents building company, sold park homes across multiple sites, managed my own long term and holiday lets, and managed an HMO. The last nine years have been spent exclusively in estate agency, working both on the high street and hybrid.
I’ve been successful at growing all the estate agents I’ve worked at in terms of properties listed and properties sold. In my most recent employment I’ve taken the company from almost no presence in my part of Northumberland to being consistently top for properties listed and properties sold. There are a number of reasons for this; offering advice on changes to make to property owners in order to get the best price possible, staging homes well and taking excellent photographs (after all, most people’s first viewing happens online these days, so photos and presentation are really important), steering properties at every stage from initial valuation right through to completion, and always looking for new ways of selling homes (such as video walk-throughs, social media posts or 360º tours).
I’m particularly excited about the prospect of working with RE/MAX because I feel like I will be able to concentrate even more on offering a high-quality service to home sellers in Northumberland and buyers worldwide, whilst also being able to offer marketing opportunities for wonderful Northumberland homes across the RE/MAX family of franchises operating in 173 countries around the world.
I’ve lived in Northumberland all my life, apart from a couple of years at college in Lincolnshire. I currently live in Swarland in a home I share with, in order of preference, my three dogs, two tanks for tropical fish, and my husband. In any spare time I have I love walking the dogs around Swarland Woods or along one of Northumberland’s many wonderful beaches, and when the night draws in I love watching films. I also enjoy international travel and I love trying food from around the world.
